| The
running section of Tattenhall Recreation Club is affiliated to the
North of England Athletic Association and meets every Thursday evening
and informally on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings. With easy
access to the Peckforton Hills and the Sandstone Trail, as well
as quiet country lanes, we are able to run on trails, cross country
or on roads, depending on training.
The
running section takes an active part in a local club road-running
league, the Borders League and the Cheshire Cross-Country league,
as well as running and racing on the Fells. Whilst many members
regularly take part in races and compete for the section’s annual
awards, other runners do not race but enjoy a social run with friends.
The
club caters for a wide range of abilities from multi-day Mountain
Marathons and 24-hour challenges to finishing a local 5km race.
Competition is not compulsory but camaraderie comes with taking
part. Come and join us for a test run!
To
meet some members and have a trial session or two with us, simply
come down to the club house in Tattenhall at 7.00 p.m. on a Thursday.

TRAINING
SESSIONS
Our training sessions are overseen by qualified coaches who
ensure that the challenge is within the capabilities of all members
of the group. Our runs are of varying length but, by allowing
slower runners to catch up and catch their breath every half-mile
or so, no one need feel intimidated by the faster runners.
