AGM 18th March at 8 p.m.

At the Rec club, all welcome. Cheese & Wine from 7.30 p.m.

Rec Quiz evening Friday 1st May at 7.30 pm

Back by popular demand we have arranged another Quiz evening for Friday 1st May at 7.30 at the Flacca. The formula will be the same with Acky Atkinson, as quizmaster, yours truly as scorer, and Mike Reece very kindly looking after the catering. We would again like teams representing different activities of the club. At £7.50 per head to include the quiz and the food there should make a positive contribution to club funds.

Here's a date not to be missed. Sunday 31st May, Tennis Tournament 10.30 start to be followed by a meal at The Sportmans at 2.30pm.

A Sunday roast costs £6.45, other food is available.

I will need to have numbers please by the end of April and a £5 deposit if you having a meal.

Partners, family are welcome to join us for the meal.

Open Day

A chance to show off our facilities, to demonstrate sports and provide opportunities for people to try new sports.

We'll start at 11.00am. A BarBQ will be on the go from 12.30 with a Rounders match from 2.00pm. Do come along and bring friends who may not have seen or tried out our facilities.

This proved to be very popular last year with our own tennis tournament followed by a picnic with Strawberries and Cream, while we watched the Men's Final on the television.

Tennis Tournament @ 10:30 (Adults only)

Picnic/Buffet at around 1pm (bring a dish)

Then it the mens final on the 360 dgree laser VR screen, or TV if unavalable. Rain or shine come along as we have a roof this year

In conjunction with the Barbour Institute the Tennis social committee are organising a night of live music.

Rock Band 'BlackField' will be playing live @ the Barbour Institute from 8:00pm till late

Tennis Christmas dinner at 'The Sportsmans' on Saturday 5th December

This year the Social Committee have decided to go to the Sportsmans for our Christmas get together.

This will be on Saturday 5th December, time 8pm for 8.30 pm.

please let me know, by the 30th Octobr, if you would like to come along. Partners most welcome. The food is reasonable, 2 course dinner £12.95, 3 course £14.95.

Internal Club Competitions

This season we are again running Mixed Doubles, Mens Doubles and a Ladies Singles Club Competitions

Rules:-

The basic rules are: £2 entry fee. Best of three sets, tie-breaks on all sets. Results to be entered on the schedule on the club notice board inside the rec club and to be informed. Both parties in a tie to contact each other to arrange play, but the ultimate responsiblity rests with the FIRST couple listed in a tie to contact the second couple. If no result entered or no proposed date of play has been entered on the club copy of the schedule, the SECOND couple will go through to the next round, unless it is due to them that the tie has not been played.

Cheshire League Competitions

This year we are again entering the Ladies Doubles and Mixed doubles Cheshire League. All home games, for both competitions, are on a Wednesday night so both courts will be in action from 6:30 onwards on the appointed nights (see court availability for home game schedule)

Results as they happen (well allmost) on our Results page, if any one let me know how they got on.
