Chairmans introduction

Hi, Welcome to Tennis at Tattenhall

My main focus this year will be to increase the membership of our club and work on a scaled set of targets for developing the club – ranging from equipment to support the juniors to our goal of developing extra court facilities. There will be a number activites and events this year to support this objective. We have a new page on this site dedicated to new starters and will be holding a combined open day later this year in conjuction with other sections of the recreation club.

One key area identified to help build our long term membership is to investment in our junior members and actively encourage new junior members by providing an opportunity for youngsters to start playing tennis. See the new Junior Social Tennis item below

Big Balls

Need More Balls?

Tennis balls are available to purchase from Helen at our local shop Village Greens.

At a very reasonable cost of £4.95 for a can of 4 with £1 going to support our club funds.

Always good to play with decent balls and it can make a big difference to your game.

Junior Summer Social Tennis 12th June

Saturday mornings proved very popular last year and we are planning to do the same this year, between the hours of 10am and 12pm. These sessions are designed to enable children who are currently paying for coaching to get extra practice at a time when they know other children will be available to play.

In addition, this scheme will also provide a regular informal session where any interested juniors can turn up, join in and get involved in the sport, hopefully leading to eventualy joining the club.

There is no charge for junior tennis members. For non-members a fee of £1.00 per week is charged to cover equipment and costs incurred.

Please note Social Junior Tennis will start on Saturday the 12th of June.

Also note that although some adults may be 'on hand,' the participation of juniors in these sessions is entirely at the parent's discretion and the parent is responsible for ensuring their child is 'safe'. All children will need to have appropriate footwear to be allowed on court....tennis shoes or trainers with acceptable (similar) soles and there own rackets (One or two may be avalable to borrow on the day)

Last but not least, these sessions are intended to provide an enjoyable opportunity for youngsters to play tennis so please spread the word and bring any young enthusiasts along.
