The present pitch at Sport & Leisure Tattenhall was created with funds provided by the Parish Council in 2005/6 and was formally opened by Gary Speed, then of Bolton Wanderers and later Manager of Wales. It is a wonderful amenity; it is level, dries well and is one of the best in the area.
Historically, football has been played in Tattenhall for over 400 years; archives detail an outbreak of violence at a match in the village in 1617 at which Constable Bruce was hit over the head with a 'short cudgel' when he tried to intervene!
AFC Tattenhall (Adults), although currently disbanded for this season, hopes to resurrect itself for future seasons. Should you be interested in Over 18s football, please contact Charlie Cooke via email: charliecooke@hotmail.com to register your interest.
AFC Tattenhall (Juniors) has grown rapidly over the past couple of years and now offers regular training sessions, UEFA B qualified holiday camps for juniors (run in conjunction with MPH Coaching Academy) and teams competing in the Chester and District Leagues.
AFC Tattenhall (Juniors) welcomes new players of any age and ability; in particular the junior section is committed to starting up new age groups. For more information about any aspect of the Club, please get in touch via the contacts below:
